Top Golf Courses in Arizona and Travel Tips for Golfers
Arizona is a sunshine state with lots of fine golf courses. It’s no wonder golfers love coming here. You can play almost all year long! Let me take you on a little tour of some of the best golf courses in Arizona. I’ll also share some travel tips for golfers. I’m so excited to share what I know with you!
Best Golf Courses
Troon North Golf Club
Troon North, located in Scottsdale, is often at the top of best golf courses list. It has two courses: the Monument and the Pinnacle. The Monument course is my personal favorite because of the big boulders and wild desert views. Some people say it’s a bit tough – well, that’s the fun of it. If you want to know more, check Troon North Golf Club.
We-Ko-Pa Golf Club
We-Ko-Pa is also in the Scottsdale area. Here, no homes spoil the view. Just pure desert beauty and mountain sceneries. There are two courses: the Cholla and the Saguaro. I played on the Saguaro course, easy to walk on and relaxing. It feels like a nice little stroll in the park.
Boulders Resort and Spa
The Boulders course is another favorite and it is actually located in Carefree, Arizona. Yes, a place called Carefree! Isn’t that lovely? It’s pretty fancy because it’s part of a resort but totally worth the visit. The holes here are surrounded by big rocks that make for such amazing photos. Want to relax? They have a spa too.
Grayhawk Golf Club
Players love Grayhawk in Scottsdale for its friendly vibes. It has two courses – the Raptor and the Talon. If you wanna feel like a big player, the Raptor is your course! They even held some professional events here. It can be a bit crowded sometimes, so book early!
Travel Tips for Golfers
Book Accommodations Early
Arizona gets a lot of visitors, especially in the cooler months. I recommend booking your stay early. Use websites like Booking.com to find nice places to stay. Close to the courses, if you can.
Rent a Car
Golf courses in Arizona can be pretty far from each other. Having a car makes it so much easier. Trust me. It’s worth it to rent a car so you can explore more.
Mind the Weather
Arizona is known for its heat, especially in the summer. Drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen. It can get really hot out there on the course. A hat helps a lot!
Pack Golf Essentials
Don’t forget the important stuff like your golf shoes and clubs. If you’re traveling far and don’t wanna carry your clubs, you can usually rent them at the club.
Explore Local Attractions
Arizona is a fantastic place with loads to see, apart from golf! After a day at the course, why not visit the Grand Canyon? Sedona is breathtaking too with its red rocks. Plan some time to explore around!
Personal Reflections
I love Arizona for its wide open spaces and fresh air. When I play golf here, it feels like an adventure. Something about walking the course surrounded by all that natural beauty makes me appreciate the game even more. Sure, the courses can be challenging but that’s how you get better, right? No matter your skill level, you will always find a course that fits you here.
Sometimes, I play just for the view – the sunsets are unbelievably beautiful. Every course has its special charm. Don’t be afraid to try different ones. Just remember to respect nature and the game. It’s all about the experience. Enjoy every swing, every step on these fabulous Arizonian golf courses.
If you’re planning a golf trip, Arizona should be at the top of your list. With top golf courses and so many beautiful sights, it promises fun and relaxation. So, pack those clubs, get some sunscreen, and hit the road!
Happy golfing!
